Exhibition “Habitat”
The city holds its traces –
surfaces and marks that speak of time passed.
The paintings draw inspiration from these urban textures,
seeking to capture fragments – remnants of something,
memory and movement – and let them converge in new forms.
The works do not attempt to explain;
they simply seek to make visible –
to let the structure speak,
to let the surface carry its own meaning.
Artist Tobias Måård
Tobias (b. 1975) is a Stockholm-based artist whose early immersion in the vibrant subcultures of the late ’80s and ’90s continues to shape his work. Beginning his creative journey as a musician and member of the band [ingenting], he later turned to painting, translating the energy and spirit of his formative years into abstract visual forms. Working primarily with acrylics and spray paint, Tobias crafts compositions that evoke urban landscapes and the rhythms of human experience.
